11 Months

River is now 11 months.  She is full of energy like her sister.  She doesn't sit still.  She's not much of a cuddler either--although when she gets tired she starts to cling to me.  She will come over to where I am and hang on me.

Diaper changes are getting more and more tricky as she is mobile now.  She will flip herself over and hates having the diaper put on.  She delights in getting away and throws a fit when I manage to keep her lying on her back.  I have to give her some distracting toy and that usually only lasts long enough to get the diaper on.

She is starting to stand without holding on to anything for balance.  She will be walking any day now.

River is teething--it seems constantly--and she is biting everything.  She has even reached out and bitten my chin while I have been holding her.  The bites are not soft.  She will also eat everything, except pureed food, which means that she is all about table food and feeding herself.  Which means--food everywhere!  In her hair, clothes, floor, somehow even across the room.  She also loves to take her messy, food covered hands, and grab her hair.  Baths occur sometimes more than three times a day, and she loves her baths.

She is also a jabberbot, and a yeller.  She has a set of lungs on her--ooohweee.  When she wants something, she will yell at you.  I don't know when the yelling began, but it is incredibly funny and at the same time, very annoying.

River is daddy's girl.  She is all about daddy.  When J comes into view, I am forgotten.  That being said, she is also into the "stranger danger" phase.  She doesn't want anyone but J or me.  Even my grandparents, who are living with us while looking for a house, she will get upset when I try to pass her off to them.  Although there was one time she was on my grandma's lap and she had a book that she was chewing on so I took it away.  She threw a tantrum and when I tried to comfort her, she wanted nothing to do with me.  It was pretty funny--such attitude already!
