Playtime
A few snapshots from the last couple of weeks with Emily and Shin! Her favorite game is chasing them up and down the stairs. Poor Emily gets quite the workout, but every time she tries to stop, Zuri will say: "go, go! Run, run...please!" It is so cute!

Sleeping
I know I have a lot of posts with Zuri sleeping, but she just finds the oddest places and the funniest combinations. She refuses to sleep with any blanket other than the one shown in the picture above, and she has outgrown it, so we try different ways to make sure she is warm and covered at night. The other day while she was taking a nap I checked in on her and found her sleeping in the rocking chair.
I don't know how long she slept in the chair, but I am surprised she didn't fall off! Since we have switched from the crib to the toddler bed, we have never had a problem with her going to sleep in the bed. I have heard stories of children sleeping behind doors or in the closet, or just on the floor, but we haven't had that problem with her. That is partly why it was so funny and unexpected to see her curled up in the chair!
In other news, Emily and Shin have moved to Utah! They live literally less than a block away (around the corner and down the street--it is a two and a half minute walk). Emily is watching Zuri for us while J is finishing his last semester at BYU, and Shin is going to school at UVU. It has been a lot of fun having them so close by, and although this last week has been crazy with adjustments and sickness and new schedules, we have really enjoyed having them here.

Our Christmases
We had four Christmases this year. We started off at the Lucero's December 11th, went to J's parents for his family Christmas party on the 18th, and then to Sacramento for the my family Christmas, and finally, back to Utah for the my mom's family for New Years.
We didn't take pictures for the Lucero Christmas, but we had lots of fun. Zuri was excited about the big Christmas tree and enjoyed playing with her cousin. We decorated sugar cookies, and surprisingly, most of the frosting really did end up on the cookies! She loved her presents this year was a lot more fun because she understood what was going on and how to open her presents. She ooohed and aaahed, and surprisingly, enjoyed the presents more than the boxes!
The next weekend we headed down to J's family. We arrived not long after the arrival of Kynlee Louise, the newest member of the family. Zuri loved the new baby. She got to hold her and kept giving her kisses. It was really cute!
We had J's family Christmas party on Saturday, the 18th. It was during Zuri's naptime and she was pretty ornery the whole time. She really only wanted to color, and was upset anytime we pulled her away to play games. She really enjoyed Santa though!
This picture sums up what she was like most of the party. She was so tired!
The angels for the Nativity play below.
It was so cute when Santa gave Zuri her present, she said "Wow!" in a really impressed voice.
Sunday morning Zuri, Addilynn and Emery all built gingerbread houses with Grandma. Zuri had a blast. She ate some of the candy but enjoyed putting it on the house more than eating it.
The weekend of Christmas we went down to Sacramento. We left right after I got off work on Wednesday, and stopped in Reno for the night. In the morning we met up with Emily and my dad and went out to breakfast together. It was a nice treat! Emily then rode the rest of the way with us to Sacramento. Unfortunately, she had to get back up to Tahoe the next day so we wouldn't see her for Christmas, but we were lucky to get the time we had!
If you look closely, you cant see my dad and J, then Emily and Zuri on the right side of the picture.
Look what Santa brought!
The rocking horse was actually mine when I was a little girl. My dad has kept it all these years and it has finally had a chance to be passed down! She loves her rocking horse!
Showing her new princess dolls to Kimie--who came all the way from Japan to spend Christmas with us!
Zuri is already a little diva. She loves dressing up and as soon as she saw her new clothes, she wasted no time in getting them on!
After presents and food, it is nap-time!
What visit to my grandparents house would be complete without a picture of Zuri playing with Nicole?
Ahh, the Sierra Nevadas....how I have missed your beauty. These were taken on the drive back home over Donner Pass.
Our Christmas celebration was topped off this weekend by going to my mom's New Years Day. Zuri's favorite person is usually McKenzie, but she had a fun time bonding with Dallas this time as well.
She loved sitting on the fireplace mantle. It was "her spot."
Playing a game together!

This was really funny--Dallas wanted Zuri to smell the candle, and they made a game out of smelling the candle together. They would smell the candle and then say "ahhh."
