My sister Emily flew in early Friday morning and spent the weekend with us. She flew out Monday afternoon and we had a whirlwind weekend. Our theme was that we wore out the batteries, because it seemed like we were always changing the batteries in our cameras. We wore ourselves out as well! Luckily, we were able to relax on Sunday or we wouldn't have been able to get everything done we did!
We picked Emily up at the airport at six in the morning. Since it was so early, we stopped in at Waffle House for breakfast. Waffle House is the "thing" out here. It is on almost every corner and is cheap, greasy, good food. So, we wanted Emily to experience some food, Southern style!
After Waffle House, we drove into Atlanta to go to the World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium. We all bought Atlanta City passes--which by the way, are totally worth it! Even though J, Zuri, and I have been to some of the attractions already, it was nice to be able to show Emily around and revisit--we saw new things on our second go-around!
Between the three of us taking pictures we have over 1,500 pictures. Instead of breaking down everything by days, I have created a different post for each event, so scroll down and hit the "older post" link at the bottom to make sure you have seen everything! I have tried to limit the pictures but there are so many good ones that I couldn't help but put them on!
Zuri was attached to Emily at the hip, especially on Friday. She wanted nothing to do with J or me. It was really funny.
The time with Emily here was so short and we didn't get to everything that we wanted. We had a blast and enjoyed having her spend time with us!
**Note: I went through and did a little editing, and because of how I posted each blog, somehow the Hindu temple got placed after the Botanical Gardens, and I can't fix it. We went to see the Hindu temple on Friday and the Botanical Gardens Saturday. Sorry about the mix-up**
Yep, we hit the Hindu temple after some yummy Mexican food!!! I loved the diversity there!!!
ReplyDeleteI went through and looked at your pictures!! Looks like so much fun! So much to see. And Keira, she is getting SO big!! And all her curly hair is super cute. Looks like you're enjoying your time in Georgia. How much longer are you guys there for?
ReplyDeleteThanks! We are here until the 16th of August! We are taking that week and driving across the country--I am excited since Keira and I flew out originally!
