Japan: An Evening at the Mall

Our last stop of the day was at a mall near our hostel.  We wandered around and then had dinner at one of the restaurants.  We also had some fun and did Purikura--a photobooth thing that is very popular in Japan--I have a whole post on it later.

After dinner, we said goodbye to our cousins, and then went back to our hostel.  Whew!  What a fantastic first day!

Randomly, in the mall, there is a sudden outdoor section that houses a temple.  It was as though the temple was in the way, so the mall was just built around it.  The history of the temple is also quite fascinating.  We didn't go through the gates that first day, but we did before we left Kyoto.

....and....the mall continues...

I loved the mural--thought it was pretty cool
Baskin Robbins!  We never did actually stop in and get some ice cream, but it was fun to see it!
