Tulip Festival

DSC00462There is something about seeing all the signs of life after the deadness of winter that is so invigorating.  I love spring.  I love watching the flowers bloom and the grass turn green.  I love being able to open the windows and let the fresh air in.

For our date night we went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point.  I haven't checked out the pictures J took with his camera, but I am posting a few of my favorite from mine (unedited).  We were originally going to check out the gardens up in Salt Lake, but they weren't open for another week.  Zuri came with us, but she wasn't overly enthusiastic about the flowers.  Mostly, she just enjoyed being outside and would run back and forth between J and I.

With my brother getting married this month, we have used our May respite hours for our trip to California, so we won't have any date nights this month.  Hopefully in June we will be able to go to the gardens before it gets too hot!

After we went to the Tulip Festival, we dropped Zuri off at my mom's while we went to look at a duplex--our lease is up at the end of July and we are looking at moving to Salt Lake county for a number of reasons.  First--to be closer to Primary Children's hospital/Riverton clinic.  Primary Children's is the only hospital which is equipped to handle Kai.  We have been told that if we were to bring him into the ER of any other hospital that he would just be life-flighted to Primary Children's.

DSC00463Second--to be closer to J's work.  It would be really nice to have him home every night.  Even though he works in Davis county, we don't want to move all the way up there because we would lose the nurses which currently take care of Kai.  Ironically, the nursing agency is based in Davis county, but they have the nurses split into regions and the nurses which currently care for Kai don't work in Davis county.  There are a couple of nurses we just can't part with.

We are also looking into buying a house, but we aren't wanting to rush into anything, so we have a back-up plan for if our lease ends and we haven't gotten into anything yet; hence looking at the duplex.

We spent some time chatting with my aunt and cousin (they live on the other side of the duplex, which is one of the draws to renting there) then went out to dinner.

It was a great date night and nice to get out.  I can't wait to be able to get out and see more of the gardens!  Kai is pretty much recovered from his surgery; so hopefully, as the weather gets a little nicer, and since we have the new stroller for Kai, we will be able to take advantage and have an outing as a family!

How nice would that be!
