We all had a blast at the aquarium, and Zuri was much more engaged than at the zoo. I was really impressed with the aquarium and all the exhibits. They are including a dolphin exhibit in the fall, which would have been nice to see!
Zuri also went to her first movie! It was 4-D, meaning they added bubbles, water, streamers, etc, to make it more real. Zuri was so fascinated by the huge screen that she wouldn't keep the 3-D glasses on for the first half of the movie. When she realized what the glasses did, she was entranced. It was more fun watching Zuri than seeing the movie. She jumped at the 3-D effects and tried to touch them a couple of times. There were a lot of kids in the theater with us. The kids would scream at the effects, which Zuri didn't like one bit, it scared her, but she was fine as long as I held her.
The aquarium had a tank with Beluga whales, but the lighting was too poor to get any decent pictures. The sharks had a moving walkway and tunnel where we got an overhead and side view. Then there was a whole room where we could sit and watch. It was so peaceful. Zuri fell asleep just before we went in, so we spend a good amount of time just watching (and taking pictures).
Surprisingly, Zuri didn't like the touch and feel area where she could put her hand in the water and touch the manta ray and sharks. She would not put her hand in the water to try. She never fails to surprise us--we thought for certain she would love to touch them.
We took so many pictures that I chose some of my favorites and put them in a slide show. You can watch it or scroll through on your own, hope you enjoy!
