It's Never too Late

Last night as Kai was playing around, he started rolling onto his stomach.  He would get about 3/4 of the way, lift his head about an inch off his bed, hold it briefly, and it would flop back down as he rolled back onto his back.  It may not seem like much, but that is HUGE.  He is initiating holding his head up in a tummy time situation.

Another indication of progress is that he is reaching out and actively seeking something other than his ballard or blankets.  He loves his pulse/ox cord, a strand of beads with which he likes to wrap his ankle and/or wrist, and a jungle ball.  It is so encouraging to see him engage with his environment, if only just a little.  He still doesn't look directly at the object he is playing with very often, but he does glance at it every now and then, and he definitely knows that it is there.  When he is done playing, he manages to get it all the way to the bottom of his bed.

Hopefully this will continue!  Kai never ceases to amaze me--just when I think that he isn't going to advance any further in his development, he will do something to prove me wrong.  I love it!
