Yellowstone in June: The Animals

Since we had eagle-eyed Cory along, we were able to spot two bears (at different times) this trip.  We also saw a coyote, bison, elk, deer, and more.  We went to the Bear and Wolf Discovery where they keep bears, wolves, and other animals from the park that have been found to either be a danger to people, or for some reason can't survive in the wild.  They have a time when they clear out the animals and they let kids into the area to hide food for the bears and wolves.  The idea is to keep the as wild as possible and/or rehabilitate them back into the wild, so they have to forage for their own food.

Zuri loved watching the crows fight over the scraps of food the wolves didn't want.  She really didn't pay much attention to the wolves.  Her favorite part was the little park and teepee at the end, where she got to play.  She kept wanting to go back.

Bear and Wolf Discovery:

Our real world sighting of the bear:

The first time was across the river--gotta love J and Cory's lenses, because they were able to zoom in quite a bit.  This first picture was from my camera to give perspective.

The second sighting was right alongside the road next to Madison campground.  You can see the RV trailers in the background.

Other animals:

Bison

Just chilling in the middle of a geothermal area.  No big deal.

Deer and Elk:
